USA Diving

Gemstone Media streamed two key events including Junior Nationals in Los Angeles, and Winter Nationals in Midland, Texas. We were able to stream every dive from both events over multiple streams with real-time graphics from Streamline using IP.

We were supported by TAKEITLIVE for video and technical assistance at both venues, sending us all the camera angles and audio over SRT. We pulled those signals into our vMIX broadcast systems and streamed each event.

Multiple competitions happened at the same time, so by having multiple streams, it let the viewer choose with event they wanted to watch. During the Winter Nationals, we added more cameras and replay to the finals. These will become showcase pieces as USA Diving endeavors to be carried on ESPN.

American Conference CXC

Gemstone Media produced the American Conference Cross Country Championships in Concord, North Carolina.

We sent multiple cameras to the event, with the signals returning back to our home office using LiveU technology. A mixture of a cart cam, drone, and handheld cameras made for seamless cutting of the event with real time graphics provided by Manhattan Running.

“LiveU came in clutch as each camera was constantly being moved around the course to grab precise angles of each running group,” explained Tristan Morhous, Director & Production Supervisor.

Jacksonville University

We’ve mentioned our MPU-1 Truck shows previously, but when sports cross-overs are in effect, especially February and March, there’s so much more to cover than one truck and crew can produce. This is where Gemstone employs more Fly Pack (as seen in the Instagram post) and REMI setups, to pull off the massive amount of games the Dolphins athletes play.

For a REMI, we send multiple LiveU Solos to campus, where all student camera operators are on-site with a Gemstone engineer. The Solos stream the action back to our office, where the full production is cut and mixed, and transmitted to ESPN. By using these workflows in addition to the truck, we are able to maximize the amount of games that Jacksonville University can broadcast per season.
